A new week means a new topic from the League of Extraordinary Bloggers. This weeks topic had me thinking back to cartoon intros I’ll never forget but always make me remember.
You never get a second chance at a first impression–what moment in pop culture had you saying “Now, that’s how you make an introduction!”
Remember those mornings when you’d wake up, run straight to the living room, find “the clicker” or maybe pull the knob, and turn on the T.V.? What were you expecting to hear? What were you hoping to hear? Did it go a little something like this?
Or maybe this had you jumping up and knocking over your bowl of Fruit Loops?
Now, if you just listened to either of those and you’re anything like me you were just transported back into your footie pajamas with a severe case of bed head. The intros are what got us pumped to watch the show! Dancing, singing, we knew the lyrics, we knew the moves. It helped that most were pretty damn catchy. This made us feel like part of that universe. These intros have been imprinted on me and to this day whenever I hear one it sends a wave of memories over me. An introduction that we remember 30 years later and has that kind of effect on us? Now, that’s how you make an introduction!
Below are just a few examples. What are some cartoon intros that take you back?
